Valentine’s Day trip ideas

If you’re hoping to whisk your special someone away for Valentine’s Day this year, we’ve got lots of fun trip ideas for you.

Go watch the sun rise or set

Depending on whether your early risers or night owls, head out somewhere special with your Valentine to see the sun rise or set. There are some beautiful spots to watch the sun. We love Richmond Park, Hampstead Heath, and Greenwich Park.

Visit Southend-on-Sea

There is lots to do in Southend-on-Sea for couples. For adventure seekers, you can enjoy the rides at Adventure Island, attempt the escape rooms, or try your skill in the casino. Or for a more serene day, walk along the pier and beach, explore Hadleigh Castle, or take to the water on a seal trip.

Wander through the forest

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and get back to nature with a wander through woodland. There are lots of wonderful forests you can visit within easy reach of London. So, grab your walking shoes and go exploring with your special someone at Heartwood Forest (appropriately named!), Ruislip Woods, Micheldever Wood, or Hainault Forest to name just a few.

Try a drive in cinema

There are lots of drive in cinemas popping up all over London that would make for a Valentine’s date night with a difference. See what’s showing in the Sunset Cinema, CH Cinema, and the Drive In Film Club.

Find the Lovelace Bridges

There are 10 remaining Lovelace Bridges to be found in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You and your partner can wander the hidden gems in the Surrey Hills.

Go star gazing

You might think the city is too full of light pollution to be able to gaze up at the stars. Not true! There are lots of places across the city that you can get an uninterrupted view of the cosmos. Try driving up to Morden Hall Park and setting yourselves up with a blanket and picnic in the former deer park.

Explore Oxford

Oxford is a beautiful, historic city full of romantic things to do with your special someone. Explore the Bodleian Library, stroll along the canal, treat them to something in the covered market. You can also finish your day with a meal and drink in one of their historic pubs.
