There are lots of amazing places you can consider when looking for ideas of road trips for couples. So, we thought we’d give you some ideas for a special, romantic English road trip.

Check out some of the places you could visit on a romantic road trip in England and get away from London for a while. We start close to home and spread out further across the country.

Brighton

Get yourself down to the beach after such a long time in the city! Driving down to Brighton is a popular trip for Londoners as it’s easy to do in a day. You can take a romantic stroll on the beach or along the cliffs and share some fish and chips in the sun.

Cotswolds

The Cotswolds are a sensational rural retreat for Londoners looking for romance. Take the time to drive The Romantic Road through the countryside and spot lots of medieval relics on your way. You can complete the circular route in a day, but it’s much nicer if you take a couple to really enjoy the route and the beauty spots along the way.

Cornwall

Along the south west, there is the fantastically long Atlantic Highway, less romantically known as the A39. You’ll get to see big sweeps of the Cornish coast with some amazing castles, beaches and there’s even the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic to enjoy along the way.

Norfolk

There are lots of romantic spots to visit in Norfolk, and it’s definitely a must if you’re planning a couple’s road trip with your special someone. Travel up from London should take a little more than two hours depending where you’re starting from. You can spend time in the Norfolk Broads with your partner, wander around the impressive cathedral in Norwich and spend time on the beach.

Peak District

Drive through the dramatic Pennines and test your driving skill on Snake Pass, a road that constantly features in lists of the best roads to drive in the Britain. Take a stroll across Bakewell’s famous Love Lock Bridge or help each other up one of the three peaks. Make sure you take time to enjoy the beautiful stars when the sun goes down too!

Yorkshire Moors

There are some incredible places to visit in the North Yorkshire Moors. You’ll find some beautiful places to walk with your loved one while you’re there. Explore historic market towns, impressive ruined abbeys and castles, and spend time in the protected national park.

Lake District

Northumberland
