Why we love staycations

There are so many staycation benefits – we just had to shout about them! The UK is bursting with beauty, culture, and adventure. You don’t need to go abroad to have an incredible trip. Let us show you why we love a staycation so much…

No airport stress

No matter how frequently you fly, airports are always a faff. You need to make sure you’ve got all your travel documents ready, stay within your baggage allowance, keep all your liquids in tiny little bottles to name just a few. There’s lots of waiting around too, and airport prices for food and drink is usually sky high.

They’re usually cheaper

Not having to pay for flights, expensive airport transfers and parking means the cost of your holiday will probably be less if you stay in the UK. That means you’ve got more cash available to spend on your trip, or even frees you up to have multiple breaks in the UK, rather than just one holiday overseas.

You have to plan less

Even in a new place, you’ll have all the benefits of knowing the language. You won’t have to plan as much in to make sure you get the very best out of your trip. You can be more spontaneous and if you get lost – Google maps and your data package are ready to help!

No jet lag

No plane travel means no time difference or precious holiday hours lost to jet lag. With a UK break, your internal clock stays exactly the same, letting you get started on the holiday fun straight away.

It’s better for the environment

There’s no avoiding the damage humans have done to the planet. We’ve consumed too much too fast and now we’re paying the consequences. Avoiding carbon intensive flights is a switch most of us can make. And with so many incredible places in the UK to explore, it’s no hardship at all to cut down on flights.

Your dog can come too

No need for expensive stays in kennels. One of our favourite staycation benefits is that your four legged friend can travel with you. Lots of holiday accommodation, activities and places to eat in the UK are dog friendly. It’s even getting more common for cats and even ferrets to come on holiday with their owners.

Emergencies are more manageable

If something terrible happens to you while you’re on holiday, you know you can get treatment at the nearest hospital very quickly. Or, if something happens to a loved one at home, getting back to them is as simple as jumping in the car – no need for flights, airport delays and being out of phone range.

Bring whatever you want

Your only luggage constraints are what you can fit in the car with a staycation. No need to frantically check carry on baggage sizes or worry about weight restrictions. Just chuck everything you need in the boot and you’re good to go.
