The Blues Brothers – 1980
It’s become of a bit of a car chase cliché, but there’s still a lot of fun to be had in the wrecking of police cars. The Blues Brothers does this perfectly, with cars speeding round corners, sliding through puddles and smashing their way through shop fronts. This is a real comedy classic, and if you haven’t seen it, go and watch it right now.
Baby Driver – 2017
You don’t even need to watch the whole film to see this awesome, action packed chase scene in Baby Driver. With a heavy rock soundtrack, the film opens with a gang of bank robbers speeding through the city pursued, of course, by the police. It really is a phenomenal scene.

The Italian Job – 2003
We couldn’t have a list of the best car chase scenes and leave out The Italian Job. Brightly coloured minis speeding through storm drains…instant classic! We’ll take a car over a motorbike any day.

The Man With the Golden Gun – 1974
Bond has more than his fair share of transport related chase scenes, but The Man With the Golden Gun takes a well-deserved place in this list for the incredible astro spiral jump. A fantastic piece of cinematography that we think demands greater appreciation.

The Matrix Reloaded – 2003
Not a great film by any stretch of the imagination, we’re sure you’ll agree, but the extended chase scene in this film really is good. Plenty of shots are fired on the high speed chase that weaves through ordinary motorway traffic, leaving wrecked cars scattered across the road.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout – 2018
Ignore what we said earlier about motorbikes, this Tom Cruise bike chase is insane. Especially as he likes to do all his own stunts! He’s actually speeding through the streets of Paris.

Raiders of the Lost Ark – 1981
The desert chase in Raiders of the Lost Ark is as packed full of action, tension, near death experiences as the rest of the film. The dramatic, changing scenery and the variety of vehicles involved in the chase – horse included! – mean this film had to make our list.
This is by no means an extensive list of the best car chase scenes. It’s a collection of some of our favourites, and if you’ve not seen them, we really recommend you do!
